Sichuan (Chengdu) Vehicle Internet Pilot Zone Construction Project
Project Location: Longquanyi District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province

Project Overview:
Chengdu Economic Development Zone relies on The “Sichuan Pilot Base for the Sino-German Cooperative Project on Intelligent Connected Vehicles, Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Standards, and Testing & Verification,” as well as demonstration projects such as the “C-V2X Intelligent Upgrade of the Direct Transportation Channel for the Universiade,” are exploring scalable and commercial application models for V2X (intelligent connected vehicles) and actively working to establish a V2X pilot zone.
The project involves the renovation and construction of off-site open roads and urban roadways within the connected vehicle pilot zone, with a primary focus on the vehicle end, roadside infrastructure, and cloud platform. The goal is to establish seamless connectivity. The project leverages six key elements—people, vehicles, roads, cloud, maps, and networks—to create four types of application scenarios: industry and livelihood service scenarios, autonomous driving demonstration application scenarios, vehicle-road collaboration demonstration and testing/validation scenarios, and visualization display scenarios. The project primarily involves upgrading and transforming 166 kilometers of open roads across the entire Economic Development Zone, building a C-V2X network that covers the entire area, deploying a total of 163 roadside perception and computing systems along key road segments, establishing a C-V2X security protection system and city-level high-precision spatiotemporal reference services, constructing a connected vehicle and smart transportation cloud service platform, setting up an outdoor testing and validation environment, and developing distinctive application scenarios. The implementation of this project will serve as a breakthrough for Chengdu’s “New Urban Construction”—a new approach to urban infrastructure development and renovation based on digitalization, networking, and intelligence—and will radiate throughout the Chengdu-Chongqing region. It will promote real-time data sharing across regions, fields, and industries, enhance collaborative governance and service levels in transportation, lead the direction of development in the intelligent transportation sector, and gradually build a modern, integrated transportation system in the Chengdu-Chongqing region that is safe, reliable, convenient, efficient, green, and openly shared. This initiative will bring new opportunities and new growth to Chengdu’s efforts to improve quality, boost efficiency, and achieve transformation and upgrading.
